We Support Research, and Education & Training

We’re here for you

We’re here for everyone affected by Urethral Stricture Disease right now.

1:200 people are affected by Urethral Stricture Disease, but there is currently no cure against the condition.

Some urethral strictures are the result of external trauma related to accidents, some occur without ever knowing what caused them, but others could be prevented with better education and training for healthcare professionals.

Most patients are subject to lifelong surgical treatments when afflicted by a urethral stricture. However, certain procedures and interventions can leave patients significantly worse off due to treatment complications.

CURE was founded to help patients with urethral stricture disease.

Our goal is to

  • raise awareness amongst the public and funding bodies

  • fund research to discover curative treatment

  • support better training and education programs for stricture prevention

We support

Research

We support research aimed at discovering curative treatments for urethral stricture disease and the translation of basic research findings into clinical practice, to benefit those suffering from urethral strictures.

Education & Training

We support training programs for Students, Nurses and Doctors to learn safe practical skills of urethral catheterisation and instrumentation to prevent injury and subsequent urethral strictures.

Our Trustees

Trustees of CURE came together to help make a change for all who suffer from urethral stricture disease.

The group brings the professional talent and experience to effectively support and bring about our charitable endeavours.

The push for meaningful improvement is fueled by direct clinical experience with the challenges patients face with urethral strictures and a deep understanding of existing treatment shortcomings and the absence of preventive healthcare measures.

Our support stories

It can be difficult to talk in public about a very private health condition.

Listen to the testimony of patients affected by urethral stricture disease. Their testimony will help you understand why we need to find more effective strategies for prevention and cure for urethral stricture disease.
